Dengan menggunakan kernel versi 5.0 yang mendukung AMD FreeSync, layar sentuh Raspberry Pi, enkripsi Adiantum, swap file Btrfs dan juga USB 3.2 dan peningkatan USB tipe C, rilis Ubuntu ini memang layak dipertimbangkan.
Versi ini juga memperkenalkan GNOME SHell Desktop 3.32 yang memberikan set icon yang modern, performa yang lebih tinggi, animasi yang lebih halus, kontrol intensitas cahaya malam hari dan pengaturan permission tingkat lanjut.
Nautilus 3.32 sekarang mendukung file favorit, bar header baru, dan juga pencarian dan mode read only.
V19 dari driver Mesa open source menjadi native di Ubuntu ini, menu Grub mengijinkan anda memasuki mode safe grafik jika ada kesalahan pada driver VGA, mode ini akan menjalankan NOMODESET yang memungkinkan kita untuk menginstall driver yang diinginkan.
Integrasi Geoglue, dan skala bagi pada layar untuk Gnome Shell agar mendukung HiDPI juga tertulis pada peningkatan Ubuntu seri ini
